Mural Workshop at Maker Exchange

In February, 2024, I had the opportunity to attend a mural workshop led by Dogwood Arts and Knoxville muralist Megan Lingerfelt. Part one consisted of an information session with Megan, where she guided the artists through each stage of the mural-making process. In part two, we painted our murals on 8’ x 8’ walls. This was my first mural and the experience was so positive working with the other artists and learning from all of them! This workshop sparked my interest in making artwork in bigger spaces.

Strong Alley with Dogwood Arts

I had a second opportunity to paint a mural through Dogwood Arts in Downtown Knoxville in the summer of 2024. I was given full artistic freedom to design a mural for the space, which was so freeing and exciting.

My design was inspired by the aspen trees in Utah, when the leaves turn yellow and orange. I wanted the design to exude a sense of calm and at the same time play with warm colors and contrast in the space. It was fun and challenging to include the pole and wires into my design!
